Hey There!

I'm Sharon Kay-Brown! I'm the proud founder and owner of Inclusive Rhythms Music Therapy. I am incredibly passionate about disability awareness and creating a world where accessibility and acceptance take center stage and was able to pursue this interest through my two degrees in Music Therapy and Teaching Children with Visual Impairments.

I'm beyond thrilled to start the adventure of running my private practice and spreading joy as a music therapist for kids of all kinds!

All About Me

Hey friends! As stated above, I am the founder and owner of Inclusive Rhythms Music Therapy. I earned my bachelor's degree in Music Therapy from Florida State University in 2018, concluding my time with an internship at the Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind. This sparked an interest that later pushed me to dive into the world of Teaching Children with Visual Impairments, getting my Master's from Western Michigan University in 2022. After five years of teaching, I decided that I missed music therapy too much and have started the journey of creating a music therapy practice!

A little about me – I'm neurodivergent myself! Growing up in a world that is predominantly designed for neurotypical people and watching my amazing mom who worked in special education for 30 years, it was clear to me that there are so many attributes, opportunities, and strengths that disabled individuals bring to the table that are frequently ignored because of the "inconvenience" of accommodation. I knew that I wanted to be a part of a community that would do something to change this, and have fueled my journey with my passion for disability awareness and creating a world where accessibility and acceptance not only take center stage, but are the standard.

Now, in my practice, I am excited to bring my ideas to fruition and serve kids of all kinds: with disabilities, without disabilities, speaking, non-speaking, signing, gesturing, walking, wheelchair-using, crawling, blind, low vision, sighted, medically-complex, and so on. Inclusive Rhythms will be a space where all are welcome, all are appreciated, and each individual brings something unique and authentic to the space that no other person can.
